Throughout
high school I came into the hobby of designing websites. Flash animation
interested me, but I wanted something heavier. I discovered the perfect hybrid
of design and animation: motion graphics. I packed up and headed to the other
side of the country to go to school and major in Visual Effects and Motion
Graphics at the Art Institute of Las Vegas of which I’m currently a graduating
student.
As a student I
strive to learn new mediums and methods through two parts imitation and one part
innovation. I try to keep my personal work edgy and unique while paying homage
to the ever expanding motion graphics art form. I’ve dabbled in media
production, stop motion animation, practical special effects, and visual effects
compositing.
As a freelancer I understand the work I do for clients is theirs and not mine,
so I believe in close and often interaction to insure that my vision of their
needs coincides with theirs and that their needs are meticulously tended to. I
believe in reaching the highest level of craftsmanship possible because my work
represents not only myself but the identity of my clients.
I’m seeking a paid position or internship full time at a studio or post
production house. I’m willing to relocate and to work flexible hours. I’m also
always available and seeking freelance work and I have done pro bono work for
non-profits as well.
I enjoy long
walks on the beach, warm summer breezes, and milking the “starving artist”
persona. Oh, and if you’re feeling generous I’m accepting red bull and external
hard drive donations at
steve@stephensiegel.net.
Thanks.
